The toebox, quarter and throat are dressed in a stark white, with a murky black appearing on the overlays, midfoot Swoosh, mudguard and collar.

This effective yin and yang is given new life by a plentiful helping of red piping and trim that surrounds the borders of each and every piece, seemingly adding an extra layer to the classic style.

However, the embellishment that gives the shoe its nom de guerre is somewhat concealed.

It’s present on the insole, which states “Who said man was not meant to fly” in bold red block letters for a direct call out to the tagline of the ad that inspired the design.

A white midsole and red outsole finalize the look.
